The Rays of Gratitude team recently completed our research trip to St. Thomas in January! We are very excited to have kicked off 2024 with an in-water research trip with our partners at The Hawksbill Project and The University of the Virgin Islands Center for Marine and Environmental Studies.
What We Accomplished
In water surveying, tagging, and research of endangered hawksbill and green sea turtles with our partners at the UVI Center for Marine and Environmental Studies
Testing out underwater scooters for their potential use in sea turtle research
Tour of a local coral restoration conservation organization, Reef Response
Interview with Paul Jobsis, Head of the UVI Center for Marine and Environmental Studies

Teaching proper turtle catch and release protocol to up and coming free divers
